Here’s the first in a series of discussions with AAM Annual Meeting session chairs to give you a taste of all the great content we have coming up at the conference.
Listen here to contract registrar Darlene Bialowski talking about “Collections Databases: Welcome to the World of Tomorrow,” taking place Sunday, May 22 from 4:15-5:30 p.m.
This session will help AAM Annual Meeting attendees research a new collections management system or implement the first database for their institution. Presenters will share their experiences of researching database systems with concern for financial resources; living with a database that no longer meets their needs; choosing a database that will take an institution into tomorrow’s technology; and sharing this information within a museum, with other institutions and with the general public.
The panelists include Amy Duke, Collections Manager and Registrar, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art; Heather Thorwald, Registrar, Denver Museum of Nature & Science; Cheryl Washer, Projects Director/Registrar, Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service-SITES, Washington, D.C.
